Junk Cars – Why Donate Yours

Most people will consider selling junk cars to local auto salvage yards in order to get rid of them. The main reason being it provides them with a little extra cash, plus most yards will arrange to come and collect the vehicle from the owner. Of course you could attempt to sell these junk cars through classified ads or online. The problem is that people won’t be willing to buy junk vehicles if they don’t actually run or have too much damage caused to them. So the amount it is going to cost to repair them is too much.

However there is another way of making money through such vehicles and this is to donate them to a charity or organization. What you may not realize is that the donation of the vehicle can then be used against your taxes. All that you need to do is ask those you have donated the vehicle to for a receipt to show it has gone to a good cause. Then you present this to your CPA who will then arrange for a credit to be made against the coming years taxes.
