Are We Really Almost There?

Wow, we are very close to completion! Today, I had a meeting with a consultant regarding what type of server rack we are going to use. We want to standardize across the entire data center and order enough to fill about two thirds of the space up front. This is hopefully enough to get us a bulk deal. In addition, we have requirements for locking cabinets and high air flow. Another consultant informed me last week that our underfloor cooling will not function efficiently once a great deal of cabling is installed in the trays. To combat this, I’m hoping to get a server rack with some kind of screen on the front to increase air flow as much as possible.

We did manage to find what I think is the ideal rack for our needs. I’m told the shipment will arrive in two weeks and then we can start filling up the floor space. This is getting more and more exciting as we near completion!
